D.S. Wade is an artist of the highest caliber and integrity, attracting significant attention for her work in oil, watercolor, printmaking, and ceramic, winning exhibition awards in several states since the year 2000.
Ms. Wade earned her BFA in painting from Shawnee State University and her MFA from Western Michigan University School of Art. She received a Graduate College Fellowship and served as Director of Western Michigan School of Art Student Galleries.
Solo exhibitions include Aquabration Ex Cathedra, at the Heartha Whitlow Gallery of The Box Factory for the Arts, St. Josephs, Michigan; Aquabration Ex Cathedra at Gallery II of Western Michigan University; and Aquabration Re-Creation at the Rotunda and South Galleries of Western Michigan University.
D.S. Wade has been juried into competitions in several states. The most recent ones are: The Muskegon Museum of Art, Muskegon, MI; The Kalamazoo Institute of Art Annual Juried Exhibition, Kalamazoo, MI; The Michigan State University “Mich-ART@cmu.wmu.msu” Juried Exhibition, Lansing, MI; and the Carnegie Juried Competition, Three Rivers, MI.
Curatorial credits include: the 2005 Michigan Youth Arts Festival at WMU in Kalamazoo, MI; the “Michiana” Annual Art Competition at The Box Factory in St. Joseph, MI; the MSU intranet generated “Mich-Art” Exhibition in Lansing, MI; and Ron Kroutel's Exhibition at the Appleton Gallery, Shawnee State University, Portsmouth, OH.
